Kevin Ellerby
aka Elvin Killerbee

Elvin was born Kevin Ellerbee in Baytown, Texas on Dec.10, 1966. He moved to Central, Louisiana as a young boy and still resides there. Music is his passion. While expanding and pursuing his music career he builds cabinets in his spare time. He has played with many great blues musicians and bands including Lynn August and Hot August Nights and Maggie Brown. He is currently touring with Big Al and the Heavyweights. If you are lucky, you can catch him hosting or jamming at Phil Brady’s Thursday night Blues Jam. He plays a lot of gigs around Baton Rouge as well as touring across the state. His music and style have been influenced by some of the greats, James Johnson, Rudy Richard and 'Lil' Ray Neal to name a few.  He has previously recorded a CD “Don’t Tell Me How to Play the Blues”, but is working on a new one to showcase his songwriting abilities and where he is now with his music. He describes his guitar playing as “fiery, electric blues”! Elvin started out  playing the drums at the tender age of 12, and then picked up his true passion, the guitar at 15. He now owns 15 guitars. Elvin loves the Blues and his music is Blues oriented. His FAVORITE pastime is smoking cigarettes. He is currently managing himself. He loves to travel and keep the Blues alive wherever he plays. We are fortunate indeed to have a talent as good as Elvin in our midst!  Joy Craig
